Your knowledge of electric remote control systems should be your guide in determining whether you choose the Ready To Fly model or the Almost Ready To Fly Model.

If you are not familiar with the basic principals of electric flight,or do not have a couple of hours to spare assembling the Almost Ready to Fly (ARF), the Ready To Fly HawkEye is the model which is recommended.

A benefit of the HawkEye Ready to Fly "RTF" Model is that it arrives with the electronic components pre-assembled. It includes everything you need to fly except your radio transmitter, receiver, batteries and your camera.

The fuselage is part of any HawkEye purchased. It has a camera mount bracket with tilt control that can be aimed forward, angled toward the side or sidewards, or straight down for a unique perspective on aerial photography shots. It is suitable for most point and shoot cameras.

The HawkEye RTF and ARF are available in four different graphics which vary in cost. All versions are the same in shape and size. Each is laser cut rip-stop nylon and is carefully constructed to exacting standards and details.

You may prefer to use your own components or purchase them separately. In this case you will want to purchase the Almost Ready to Fly (ARF) . It is identical in every respect to the RTF version except it will not have the electrical hardware components. It will however have everything else, including a camera mount, fuselage, and a complete framed sail. It will take approximately 2 hours to completely assemble and install the components to make ready to fly.

How it works:

The high torque servo and throw arm connects directly to the balance bar on the Hawkeye fuselage gondola. Depending on which channel you choose to connect the servo, it may be used like an elevator or used to tune the CG to the desired flight parameters while your Hawkeye is airborne.

It can be added or removed at will. Kit includes everything shown.

Adding the Center of gravity inflight adjustment kit increases both the wind range and payload capability of your Hawkeye (kit includes items pictured in the large photo below). The Hawkeye camera mount bracket is made from aluminum with nylon attachment screws. It is capable of accepting most point and shoot digital cameras and has a foam covered inner bracket which the camera rests upon (foam covering not shown). It has tilt capability and can be mounted on the HawkEye to take pictures from the side, pointing straight ahead, or vertically straight down.

What the heck is a BEC?

Our Battery Eliminator Circuit is a little device that eliminates the need for a receiver and servo battery pack. It draws higher voltage from the motor batteries and drops it to a voltage level that is suitable for your receiver and servos. This is required in applications which draw high power for multiple servos or use more than 3S motor packs, as most ESCs with linear BECs are not designed for these applications.

Electric Flights is adding an Elevator Option for the HAWKEYE.

This option increases wind range even further. It allows for flying in up to twenty mph winds. Experienced flyers will enjoy the conventional control surface the elevator offers. An increased windrange, a higher climb rate and faster descents are possible. This option is suggested for flyers with some previous experience in flying remote control. The elevator option is sold as an easy to assemble kit.
